|Ralph Todd (1856 -
|Ralph Todd was a genre and landscape
painter and a member of the Newlyn School of artists.
He studied in Belgium, Holland and Paris and met Stanhope Forbes
in Brittany in 1882. In 1883 he moved to Newlyn but by the early 1890s
he had moved to St. Keverne and later to Helston. He primarily worked in
watercolours and his best known oil is "Primrose Day", painted
He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British
Artists, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, and the Royal
Institute of Oil Painters as well as at many major provincial galleries.
